Personal Info

Name: Enrico Aderhold
Born: Late 1972
Origin: East Germany
Lives in: Allstedt, Germany
Status: Married to Sabine
Children: Sally (♂), Eric (♂), Alex (♂)

Family Life

Sabine and I have been together since 2004, married in August 2019 after years of shared battles and blessings.

We have a son, Alex, and I also consider Sally, though not biologically mine, as my own.

Sally works for the local government and holds a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ), training alongside me.

Eric lives in Nuremberg, is open-minded and a fellow tech geek—no surprise there.

Alex is an elite rower in Halle/Saale; his eight-man crew won bronze at the 2024 World Championships in Ontario. He's aiming for the 2028 or 2032 Olympics.

“My pride lies not in what I do, but in what they become.”

Working Life

The Early Days

Started in September 1989 as a farmer trainee. When the wall fell, I took whatever paid—car painting, house building, drywalling.

Life Behind the Keyboard

Tech spark hit in 1989 on a C64—more interested in how games worked than playing them.

Tech Timeline

  • 1990 – First Atari
  • 1993 – First 286 PC, MS-DOS tinkering
  • 1995 – Windows NT 3.1, and I was hooked
  • 2001 – First Mac, sleek and UNIX-based
  • 2003 – My first gaming server went live
  • 2004 – Hostmaster duties: 100+ sites, Apache, BIND, MySQL, 3am recoveries

Then went full-time into IT—System Engineer at Deutsche Telekom Frankfurt for Microsoft, then deep into enterprise networking. Clients include Dresdner Bank, Commerzbank, Allianz, Deutsche Post, Siemens, Cable & Wireless, MicroStaxx, Vion, and now HCD Consulting.

WiFi Mission

I started messing with Wi‑Fi in 2014—admin, tweak, repeat. In 2020, I dove deeper—and after 200 pages in the CWNA-107 study guide, I realized I was a user, not an architect.

As of June 2025, I know Wi‑Fi networks—and I know the difference between a hack job and a properly built system. Next stop: CWNE and beyond.

CWNP ID: 634461

  • CWNE – in progress

Ventured into IoT with CWISA on June 3, 2025—because everyone’s using it without realizing it. That’s exactly why it matters.

Sports Life

Childhood: sprinting, jumping, lifting, Judo (orange belt—today: blue).

  • Late 90s: Muay Thai
  • Then: Skydiving (300+ jumps)
  • 2008: Kickboxing
  • 2009: MMA — stayed with it for years
  • 2012: Golf with a 26.5 handicap
  • 2014: Moved to Hannover—started Luta Livre, then shifted to BJJ
  • 2019: Moved to Allstedt full-time—coached youth judo, kept training BJJ in Halle

BJJ Journey

Started Luta Livre in Hannover under David Polokay & Murat Aygün, then BJJ with Douglas Mayer.

Since 2016: BJJ became home   •   2018: Blue belt   •   2022: Purple belt   •   2025: Brown belt

Currently training in Halle/Saale with Sebastian Otto and Philipp Parade—and wherever the road takes me.

Fishing

I’ve been fishing since childhood and have been chairman of Anglerverein Allstedt e.V. since 2023.

I’m not a trophy hunter—just fishing for fun, a meal, or some peace. Some days, I don’t even use a hook or bait; it’s not about catching—it’s about not being caught.

My Heroes

BJJ Fanatics

"I build networks. I break sweat. I live code. I fight gravity. I don’t do average."
— Enrico Aderhold

Local Engagement & Political Stance

Serving on Allstedt’s local council since 2020; currently Deputy Mayor (Ortsbürgermeister‑Stellvertreter).

If asked about politics—I’m not aligned with far-right fascists, far-left extremists, radical green agendas, or religious fanatics. I remain party‑free and intend to stay that way.
